Our latest Rye River Seasonal has been released this week and we’re thrilled to finally be able to share it with you! Revelation Brown Ale is an extra special seasonal brew that you definitely do not want to miss out on.
Inspired by innovative malting technology at Crisp Malt‘s Great Ryburgh site, we teamed up and fired up the RevTech to create a revelatory brown malt expressive of modern coffee.
Revelation Brown Ale is brewed with Crisp’s finest malts and a favourite Belgian yeast strain to invoke the nutty, fruity and roast characteristics we love about modern coffee and a great brown ale.
Behind the scenes of Revelation Brown Ale
This autumn, we teamed up with Crisp Malt at their state-of-the-art roasting facility, the Speciality Malt Plant, to create a special limited edition small batch of coffee-inspired malt. This exceptional malt was the inspiration for Revelation Brown Ale.
We know you all love to see behind-the-scenes action for our brews (who doesn’t?!), so for a video breakdown of this unique and incredibly special seasonal collab brew, including exclusive footage from our visit to Crisp Malt and interviews with our Rye River brew team, check out this excellent video from the team at Get ‘Er Brewed.
What exactly is RevTech?
In a nutshell, the RevTech system is a highly innovative and state-of-the-art system employed by Crisp Malt to create an even roast and greater consistency of colour across every single grain of malt. This piece of technology not only was the key to developing our bespoke brown malt in Revelation Brown Ale, but was also the inspiration behind our label design as well.
We highly recommend you to check out this excellent Good Beer Hunting Article written by Matthew Curtis, Welcome to Fringe Division – The Innovative Malting Technology That’s Producing Better Beer, that explores the RevTech system at Crisp Malt in-depth.
