Say hello to our little centrifuge!
It’s exciting times on the brewery floor and today we’re pumping Granny Mary’s Red Ale through our brand new centrifuge. What’s a centrifuge? Good question!
The simple explanation, it forces particles out of liquid. The more complicated explanation: a centrifuge is a machine with a rapidly rotating container. The movement applies centrifugal force to its contents, typically to separate fluids of different densities or liquids from solids.
Because we have some beers that we love to dry hop, it means any particles or debris from the hop pellets can be ‘spun’ out of the beer. It means we don’t have to filter our beer anymore…so we don’t have to filter out any of the good stuff!
