You’ve met the brewers, now it’s time to meet our last seasonal of the year: Smashed Clogs, a DIPA we smashed out with Jopen Bier… Nu Breekt Mijn Klomp!
Featuring the groundbreaking YCH303 Trial: Cryo Hops x Phantasm and the new NZ hop on the scene, Superdelic, this unique blend of hops gives a distinctive character to the beer, making it a standout choice for enthusiasts and casual drinkers alike.
Expect a vibrant pour, showcasing a deep amber hue, while the nose is greeted with an exciting array of scents, from the citrusy and tropical notes of the New Zealand Superdelic hop to the complex aromas introduced by the Cryo Hops and Phantasm. With each sip, you will experience a harmony of flavours, blending traditional hop bitterness with modern, fruity undertones, resulting in a truly unique taste profile that will leave a lasting impression on the palate.
A new Rye River Seasonal is hitting shelves this summer and you don’t want to miss this one! Die Hundestage Köter Kölsch, or the Dog Days Mutt Kölsch, is a special collaboration brew with our friends at Old Street Brewery in East London.
This one is for the dog days of summer! We brewed what we love: Kölsch and hops. Grab some cans, find some sun and crush a few cold ones. This mutt of a Kölsch style is crisp and clean with a Tango and Callista dry hops bringing forward a spritz of citrus and sweet fruit. 5.0% ABV and limited edition. Prost!
“This mutt of a Kölsch-style was born from drinking beers and making friends on a recent trip to Germany. Josh from Old Street Brewery and I thought a project to celebrate some German Hops would be a bit of craic and with the dog days of summer fast approaching, our heads jumped to Kölsch. We brewed a crisp and clean Kölsch with Dingeman’s Pilsner and Wheat, fermented it out with a Kölsch Ale yeast strain and then laced it with Callista Lupomax and Tango Spectrum for a hit of sweet fruit and citrus on the nose. Sup’em while the sun is shining.” – Bill Laukitis, Head Brewer at Rye River
Check out this video from our buddies at Get ‘er Brewed from the collab brew day back in June!
“Both Old Street and Rye River are full of dog lovers. When I met Josh he was telling me about how Old Street are a dog friendly brewery and taproom. So we took inspiration from that and it was an opportunistic moment to put both of our dogs on a beer label. We further sought opportunity to include photos or videos from all our beloved brewery hounds for this project. We love dogs and we love beer… just don’t ask us to choose between them!” – Bill Laukitis
So right about now you’re probably wondering where you can get your paws on this beautiful Kölsch collab… We’ve got you covered!

Introducing our next Rye River Seasonal release, one that has been in the making since March of this year and one that we are burning with fire to share with you all… Say hello to Embers, our Añejo Barrel Aged Wheat Wine!
We mashed one tonne of Oak Smoked Wheat into this wheat wine. It’s basically a Grodzizkie dialled up to 11, but we didn’t stop there. We aged Embers an additional 6 months in freshly emptied Añejo tequila barrels, bringing forth sweetness and notes of citrus, vanilla, raisin and earth. We are stoked to finally share Embers with you!
If you’re wondering where to find Embers, you’re in the right place! Here’s a handy list of stockists where you’ll be able to find it right now.

We canned fewer than 5000 cans of this beer. Most of them are numbered but if you happen to find a can marked with XXX instead of a number, post a pic of it on your socials, tag us and you’ll go into a draw for something special! Competition closes 20th December 2020.
The Herd is our 4th Rye River Seasonal release of 2020 and it’s a good one! Nine freshly emptied ex-Buffalo Trace Bourbon barrels filled were with our Belgian inspired Quad Ale. It’s taste is lead by its depth of malt character with a touch of caramel and seamlessly blended with deep notes of Cherry, Vanilla and Bourbon. Savour and share.
Because there were fewer than 2300 individually numbered bottles produced, you can expect a stampede for this warming treat! Sláinte!
